The Accident & Emergency Department of Health City Hospital is manned by qualified doctors trained in Emergency Medicine with the ultimate aim of providing care and relief to the patients. We offer a variety of medical services to the patients who need urgent medical attention, surgical procedures and/or acute care. The scope of services offered includes but are not limited to consultations, whereby a patient is carefully diagnosed by the attending physician to ascertain the condition the patient presents with. The diagnosis may entail simple procedures whereby the doctor physically examines the patient. It may also include laboratory tests for blood, stool or urine. In some cases the diagnosis may involve complex procedures using MRIs, CT-scans, other radiological tests to arrive at a diagnosis. Diagnosis is then followed by treatment approaches based on the outcomes of the initial tests. It is a specialized centre for patients presenting with complex traumatic injuries offering services of a team comprising of Emergency Physicians, Neurosurgeon, Orthopaedic surgeon, General surgeon, Vascular surgeon and anaesthetists. The Accident & Emergency department is fully equipped and manned to offer urgent care to stroke patients and care to cancer patients. Upon successful treatment, patients are disposed of in three distinctive categories, depending on the level of care they need after treatment.

  • Fast track patients are those with minor emergencies who are discharged immediately after treatment to recover at home.
  • Those who require some further evaluation and definitive treatment are admitted in a cabin/ ward.
  • Unstable patients presenting with stroke, heart attack, cardiac arrest, intensive burns and those requiring surgery require acute care and intensive monitoring. Such patients are admitted to the ICU/ICCU/SICU for monitoring and treatment.
