Department of Radiation Oncology
Radiation therapy is the use of high-energy radiation to damage cancer cells' DNA and destroy their ability to divide and grow which is conducted with high specialization in the Health City Hospital. Radiation therapy has been used to cure cancer, to relieve a cancer patient's pain or alleviate other symptoms.
Aims:
Health City Hospital Radiation Oncology Team provides expert, comprehensive and compassionate care to patients with cancer. As a multi –disciplinary team, the oncology specialists work with one another to develop individualized treatment plans for each patient. It is ensured that the remaining physicians and other oncologists involved in the patient’s care are kept fully aware of those plans and the patient’s progress during and after radiation therapy.

Respiratory Gating with advanced imaging (Fluoroscopic) especially for lung tumours. OBI (On Board Imaging) and verification using real-time CT-Scan and X-ray images to correct any setup error while treating the cancer area with the highest precision. Hospitals need it to provide accessible, affordable and cutting edge technology for cancer care treatment for the first time in North-East India. It has FFF (Flattening Filter Free) Mode delivering high dose (2400 cGy/min) radiation to the tumour in a fraction of minutes with the highest precision in sub-millimeters.

Department of Medical Oncology & Haemato Oncology
The Medical Oncology Department, of Health City Hospital is dedicated for the visit with the specialists of the Supportive and Palliative Care who work closely and share in- and out-patients of the Department of Medical Oncology. The center's mission is to improve the understanding of factors affecting the quality of life and quality of care of advanced cancer patients and their caregivers. Specialists interact each other by weekly meetings, in which clinical cases are discussed and shared. The patients are cured at the same time by all the specialists.The Medical Oncology department offers comprehensive cancer care, featuring dedicated, skilled, and compassionate doctors, supported by the latest equipments, technology and facilities for outpatient, day care and inpatient cancer patient treatment, prevention, screening, research, and education.

The Medical Oncology department at Health City offers comprehensive cancer care, featuring dedicated, skilled and compassionate doctors, supported by the latest equipment’s, technology and facilities for outpatient and inpatient cancer treatment, prevention, screening, research and education. This department deals with chemotherapy and Targeted therapy [biological immunotherapy], for all spectrums of cancers.
The department has a dedicated “Day Care Center”. This center has installed first time in this region a ‘Chemotherapy Admixture Unit” or CVU which is a dedicated chemo preparation room where preparation is done under sterile conditions. This CVU is equipped with latest cytotoxic or bio safety cabinet, air purifier with Hepa filters for safety of patients and healthcare workers.
The hospital is also equipped with state of art Transfusion medicine and blood bank dealing with blood and blood products, treatment of all spectrum of hematological malignancies like leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma are managed.
Pediatric Oncology: Pediatric oncology is the branch of medicine concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of cancer in children. The most common cancers in children are (childhood) leukemia (32%), brain tumors (18%), and lymphomas (11%). In 2005, 4.1 of every 100,000 young people under 20 years of age were diagnosed with leukemia, and 0.8 per 100,000 died from it. The number of new cases was highest among the 1–4 age group, but the number of deaths was highest among the 10–14 age group. Over 75% of Children with cancer can be cured completely. The Surgical Oncology Department of Health City has been designed to help patients recover from surgery more quickly and with fewer complications.
