Dr. Yasin Ali, the Chief Consultant Child Specialist of Health City Hospital has been able to establish the occurrence of three rare diseases in a single child of 1 month 20 days for the first time in the world. After relentless research work for last 12 months Dr.Ali has concluded that this is the first baby in the world to have been affected by three rare diseases at the same time viz. Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia, Noonan’s Syndrome and Horse Shoe Kidney. This information has been shared by Dr. Yasin Ali in a press release today in Health City Hospital. According to the Child Specialist this 1 month and 20 days old male baby was admitted in Health City Hospital on 23/12/2020. This baby was suffering from cough since 25 days after birth and was being offered treatment by local physicians with necessary antibiotics and other medications but the baby’s condition didn’t improve. The baby was having increased difficulty in respiration and inability to drink breast milk for 5 days prior to admission in Health City Hospital. This baby was suffering from pneumonia and all the necessary blood investigations and CT Scan of chest, CT Angiography, Echocardiography and Virtual bronchoscopy was done. The baby responded to treatment and was cured of pneumonia. Dr. Yasin Ali told that even after the baby got cured he remained skeptical of few facts as to why this normal healthy newborn baby should get pneumonia so early in life and why it didn’t respond to medications easily. These questions were constantly playing in his mind and after lots of study he opted for Genetic Analysis. For that the necessary samples were collected on 30/12/2020 and sent to Bangalore for genetic tests. After one month i.e. on 30/01/2021 the Genetic analysis report was available which revealed the presence of two rare genetic diseases in the baby viz. Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia and Noonan’s Syndrome. The occurrence of another condition i.e. Horse Shoe Kidney was already established in the CT Scan. Dr. Ali has revealed that he has never come across such occurrence of three rare diseases from birth in a single baby. After this he started further research in the case and for the last 12 months he has gone through hundreds of national and international medical journals, discussed in many medical forums but there is no publication of such an occurrence anywhere. At last Dr.Ali has come to the opinion that this baby is probably the first in the world to have these three diseases together since birth. Dr.Yasin Ali has significantly commented that this baby may suffer from pneumonia from time to time and have problems in reproduction; for which the baby will require treatment. For the Horse Shoe Kidney the baby may have urinary tract obstruction and kidney stones.

On the other hand, vaccination centre has been opened today in Health City Hospital. All the vaccines recommended by the Health ministry, Govt. of India, for prevention of various diseases since birth, will be given in this centre. After the inauguration of this centre Dr Atanu Barthakur, Director Medical service of Health City Hospital mentioned that these vaccines are given in a phase wise manner to prevent various diseases like Polio, Hepatitis etc. thus centre will remain open during the OPD hours in all working days. He mentioned significantly that only healthy children can contribute in building up of a healthy and strong community and country in the future. Hence we should not ignore vaccination of children.
