Welcome to the Department of Laboratory Medicine
Established in 2018 under the leadership of Dr. Melody Baruah, the Department of Laboratory Medicine at Health City Hospital, Guwahati offers a full spectrum of diagnostic services — including Clinical Biochemistry, Hematology, Microbiology and Infectious Disease Serology, Clinical Pathology, Molecular Testing, Cytology, and Histopathology (with frozen section biopsy). The department is staffed by a team of 9 highly qualified doctors, with experience ranging from 6 to 20 years.Our lab services are backed by advanced instrumentation and a rigorous internal quality framework.

The department is now headed by Dr. Melody Baruah, a recognized figure in laboratory medicine, further reinforcing its academic and clinical leadership All laboratory personnel are trained in ISO 15189:2022 standards and demonstrate expertise in their respective specialties.With over six years of service, the department has built a strong foundation in multidisciplinary laboratory diagnostics. Each team member brings substantial field experience, enabling rapid, accurate, and clinically relevant reporting.
